How would you tell your life story? Everyone has a life story. It’s up to you to tell it. The way you tell also comes in all unique forms. Telling a story isn’t only about words. What way can you think of when you think of storytelling?
There are traditional ways, such as narrating or writing. There’s also illustrating, performing or singing. But there are also the people who don’t know they’re storytellers but tell something of themselves through examples of how they live or make choices or how they socialise. They tell a story when helping someone. What an exciting night it’d been to be able to launch our new children’s book, Rain Shaker! A tale of passion, wonder, and imagination.
This is us launching online, sharing Erin’s, our protagonist, journey with you. She is determined to grow her sunflowers, but she has one problem. There’s no rain, and there is a drought. What will she do to bring life to her pots? To bring water. Let’s find out!Read more “Rain Shaker Launched”
They’re everywhere! They’re in your head, in your heart, next door to you, across the street, in the big city, or on the other side of the world, they are there.
Whether you catch them in your trusty sketchbook or put them in a jar just don’t let them disappear! Some characters will stay with you forever until you give them life and others are so fleeting you’ll forget the second you turn your attention elsewhere.Read more “Where do characters come from?”
What a time to start in my opinion. If you’re thinking about it, what’s holding you back from making that first step?
Admittedly, the first few steps are always the hardest but once you get rolling you’re not going to want to stop. You’ll see your possibilities clearer every step you take. You’ll also surprise yourself with your capabilities. We’re a lot stronger and capable than we think. If you’re willing to take the chance, go through the sweat and tears that come with determination, do it! It may all sound much now but it’s a lot simpler when it’s put into practice.Read more “Where do you start?”
What an exciting month! I’ve been waiting for this month for a very long time.
Circumstances have changed significantly since I sent the final files to the publisher for Chasing Rainbows. The world has been turned upside down in a chase to find a cure for COVID-19. We have lost many friends, family, and people we won’t have a chance to meet. It’s been a challenging time of survival, loss, and change. Keep reading!
There’s such a thing called the book of magic. It’s known by many names. But let’s talk magic for a bit before we proceed to The Book.
What is magic to you? What makes you magical? Magic is an energy that transcends to one’s skill. So let’s think about that. What’s your skill? What makes you happy? Are words your skill, your magic? Is it your expression? Your brush strokes? Could it be your voice or your movements? Or the dinner you serve?Keep reading!

Do you ever think what it was that made you go down the path of your profession? Someone asked why I became an illustrator? So I thought about it…
More often than not we tend to be too busy to reflect on how far we have come. It takes a question from someone else to recall a time or moment. I remember my moment very well. I always knew that I would be doing something creative with my life. I just didn’t know what.Keep reading!
How are you? What a crazy time we are living in now. I hope you are keeping safe and healthy. That is the No.1 thing at the moment.
Now, on to our subject; building character.
Character development is probably one of my favourite stages in creating a children’s book. It’s fun and exciting. It’s like making a new friend. This practise is used in many industries.Keep reading!
