Where do characters come from?

  • 01/09/202001/09/2020
They’re everywhere! They’re in your head, in your heart, next door to you, across the street, in the big city, or on the other side of the world, they are there.

Where do you start?

  • 18/08/202018/08/2020
What a time to start in my opinion. If you’re thinking about it, what’s holding you back from making that first step?

Admittedly, the first few steps are always the hardest but once you get rolling you’re not going to want to stop. You’ll see your possibilities clearer every step you take. You’ll also surprise yourself with your capabilities. We’re a lot stronger and capable than we think. Chasing Rainbows is Taking Flight

  • 03/08/202003/08/2020

What an exciting month! I’ve been waiting for this month for a very long time.

Circumstances have changed significantly since I sent the final files to the publisher for Chasing Rainbows. The world has been turned upside down in a chase to find a cure for COVID-19. The Book of Magic

  • 28/05/202031/05/2020

There’s such a thing called the book of magic. It’s known by many names. But let’s talk magic for a bit before we proceed to The Book.

What is magic to you? What makes you magical? Magic is an energy that transcends to one’s skill. So let’s think about that. What’s your skill? What makes you happy? Are words your skill, your magic? Is it your expression? Your brush strokes? Could it be your voice or your movements? Or the dinner you serve?

A Moment of Clarity

  • 16/04/202014/05/2020

Do you ever think what it was that made you go down the path of your profession? Someone asked why I became an illustrator? So I thought about it…

More often than not we tend to be too busy to reflect on how far we have come. It takes a question from someone else to recall a time or moment. I remember my moment very well. I always knew that I would be doing something creative with my life. I just didn’t know what.

Building Character

  • 02/04/202002/04/2020

How are you? What a crazy time we are living in now. I hope you are keeping safe and healthy. That is the No.1 thing at the moment.

Now, on to our subject; building character.

Character development is probably one of my favourite stages in creating a children’s book. It’s fun and exciting. It’s like making a new friend. This practise is used in many industries.

Stay curious

“Curiouser and curiouser!” Cried Alice (she was so much surprised, that for the moment she quite forgot how to speak good English).”
